A Physio's perspective: 3 exercises that are actually fun
In my last post (3 reasons to workout together), I wrote about how COVID had us all exercising differently. Just as we were starting to lose creativity and motivation, my wife and I discovered that exercising together could actually be fun!
A lot of my friends in Markham and Toronto have turned to jogging, running and walking during COVID. While these are great forms of exercise (which I always encourage), things can get mundane and boring quickly. Here are 3 simple exercises you can do with a partner that can help you build foundational strength and cardiovascular fitness. All while having a good laugh and good sweat! This is perfect for partners who want to encourage their loved ones to exercise but know that they hate running. Check out our video below.
1) Partner Carries (5x each, try to aim for 200 steps each round)
2) Partner Squats (5x5, make sure you keep an erect posture)
3) Partner Lunges (5x5, both legs using a curb)
Have fun guys! Let me know if you're able to convince your loved ones to exercise with you. I always love hearing success stories :).
Let’s keep in mind our current physical distancing rules! Please stay 6 feet from other people who are not in your immediate household.
